What to expect on your New Orleans swamp tour
Whether you have decided on an traditional cruise style tourboat ride or one of our fast paced airboats, one thing is sure, you will have a blast! After passengers check in, they will be greeted by their local guide. It is not uncommon to see a plethora of wildlife, even from the dock! Gators, turtles, waterfowl, fish, and even the odd bald eagle can be spotted regularly while waiting for your ride to commence. Once everyone is checked in, safety speeches are given, and you’re off!
During your ride
After departure, guests will immediately be immersed in the swamp atmosphere. As the airboats operate at high speeds acting like a swamp roller coaster, the tourboat slowly cruises through the cypress trees. Your captain will not hesitate to impart his local knowledge on you. You will hear about everything from the native and invasive animals of the swamp, to infamous hurricane Katrina & Voodoo! Critters of the swamp abound, if you can see them! Your guide is an expert of finding these critters, often spotting them when no one else will. Most of the time guests will be able to watch the alligators being fed and handled. Sometimes we are even lucky enough to find a baby gator for you to hold!
