What should we bring?
Everything that enters the course MUST be tethered. It’s a good idea to bring with you a secure small backpack to carry items you require onto the course. Items that are untethered will not be permitted to enter the swamp. Anything that falls is irretrievable. We have drawstring bags, phone lanyards, and water bottle lanyards available for purchase in our gift shop for those who do not have their own. Locker storage is also available to leave behind any unpermitted items safely and securely.
Cameras are permitted, but must be tethered by a 3pt harness. Regular two point harness’ are not encouraged.
Go Pro cameras are allowed on the course, but must be secure via: chest mount, selfie stick (with wrist lanyard), or helmet mount (if you require a helmet mount for your helmet, please ask your guide as you’re being fitted).
Biting insects are RARELY encountered during daylight hours. Bug spray can be worn, but must be applied prior to being equipped with your protective equipment.
Sunscreen is advised. Although most of our course is under the shade of cypress foliage, the South Louisiana sunlight is very powerful. Please make sure you apply sunscreen prior to arriving or immediately upon arrival. Once protective equipment is worn, sunscreen will not be permitted to be applied due to its corrosiveness.
